We are excited that our hygiene department's success with the Ivoclar VivaDent Laser treatments is making gum disease control faster and painless while promoting the body’s own local immune system. This is decreasing the frequency of gum surgeries while maintaining the affected teeth longer. Wikipedia describes its effect as follows: A laser beam has a natural sterilization effect -- it evaporates bacteria, viruses and fungi, which leads to a decrease in local infections. Probably most important, the laser decreases post-operative pain by sealing nerve endings.

Because people with unmanaged gum disease are more prone to heart disease, stroke, uncontrolled diabetes and elevated white blood cell count, we give all the attention to have healthy gums. After all, the mouth is a main access route to the rest of the body.
